Ticho Wellness

Frequently Asked Questions

Perfect! Our classes are suitable for all levels, including beginners. Our instructors will guide you through the basics and offer variations to make the practice accessible to everyone.

Just yourself. We have mats, props and blankets in the studio, and water and tea are available. Do feel free to bring anything you think might enhance your experience or your own mat if you prefer.

Parking is available in the nearby Barnes streets, and a variety of trains and buses will take you right to our doorstep.

No worries! Our classes and teachers cater for everyone, and if you have a particular concern let your teacher know and they will help you out. Breathing and meditation don’t require any flexibility whatsoever – you may well find you spend your entire class lying down – and Yoga is for everyone, regardless of flexibility.

Wear comfortable clothing. For yoga you’ll want it to allow a full range of motion, but for breathwork and meditation that isn’t so necessary. There are no shoes in the studio, but feel free to wear socks.

We don’t currently have a dedicated changing space. However, our bathroom is fully accessible and large enough to be used as a changing room if needed.

It’s advisable to avoid heavy meals at least two hours before class. Stay hydrated by drinking water but avoid excessive intake to prevent discomfort during practice.

It’s entirely up to you. You can still attend class. Please listen to your body and modify poses as needed. Feel free to communicate any concerns with the instructor and they can advise which version of the pose may be best suited to where you are in your cycle.

We’re pretty laid back at Ticho Wellness, but we do ask you to follow a few rules and guidelines:

  • Please arrive for your class before the start time.
  • Classes will start on time and late-comers risk not being able to join a class already under way.
  • The studio is a shoe free zone, but feel free to keep socks on.
  • Please make sure your phone is turned off.
  • Feel free to take a break in a class anytime.
  • Please leave the room relatively quietly after your class, some people will really appreciate that.

Our cancellation policy requires 12 hours before your scheduled class to avoid any charges. Late cancellations may incur a fee. Please check our detailed policy on our website or contact us for more information.

Sometimes if a teacher is on a planned break, or is ill or indisposed at the last minute, we have to take a class of the schedule for that week. We usually do our best to find a cover teacher who is suited to the class or style but sometimes it make sense to pause the class. If you can see something that missing that should be there, give us a call or send us an email and we’ll let you know what is happening and why.

Our children’s and teen classes run with the academic year so you won’t see them on the schedule during holiday times. We are looking to run workshops, one-off classes and eventually courses and camps during the holidays so do please check in. If you would like to sign up for a children and family newsletter which comes out monthly to update you on our programme for families, children and teens.
