Ticho Wellness

We believe in wellness as a path to inner peace and resilience.

Ticho Wellness is a little studio with a big heart—a community-centered space that offers something for everyone, young and old. Founded by three friends rooted in the Barnes area, Ticho is a passion project bringing a touch of everyday magic to the neighborhood.

Our offerings range from yoga and teen classes to gong baths, cacao ceremonies, breathwork, energy healing, crystal workshops, and mindful storytelling for kids. Here, the mystical meets the practical in a welcoming, non-judgmental space, where everyone is free to be curious and open.

Why are we called Ticho?

The word Ticho (pronounced Tee-ko) means quiet, silence.

But in the case of Ticho Wellness, it’s a quiet that sings. Our studio in the heart of Barnes offers the perfect haven for discovering your own path to wellness. To find the quiet time you need to re-energise your body, mind and soul. Ticho time.

Founded by three friends who each have their own personal wellness story, we offer everything from yoga and pilates to breath work and sound healing.
So, whether you’re a beginner, an accomplished yogi, or just wellness curious, come and say hello. Our Manager Iona will happily show you around.
And help you find the Ticho time that’s right for you.

TICHO – Your path to wellness.

The Teachers

Chris Ashworth
I am a clinical Pilates instructor, massage therapist, breath worker and an advanced Wim Hof Method instructor. In sessions I like to do a full circle class, stretching first, then working the body with Pilates, finishing with breathwork to reset and go away from the class feeling relaxed. We will loosen your muscles, strengthen your core and reset your nervous system. And have some fun doing it. I hope to see you there.
Claire Welton

Claire has always enjoyed a natural affinity with health and wellbeing. Feeling inherently guided by what felt “right” for her body from a young age, she has prioritised wellness throughout her life.

While she dabbled with yoga in her younger years, it was not until her thirties and the birth of her second son that she forged a profound and transformative connection with the practice. As a mother, yoga became an integral part of Claire’s life – a vital source of self-identity that fostered within her a deep sense of calm, peace, and safety, representing a return ‘home’ to both body and mind.

Motivated by this deep connection, Claire’s inspiration for teaching was born from a wish to share some of the wonderful gifts of yoga with her sons. Inspired by the classical Hatha yoga tradition, as well as Yin yoga, restorative and somatic practices, Claire’s teaching style is kind and nurturing, revolving around the heartfelt belief that yoga and wellbeing is for everyone and every ‘body.’

Claire has recently broadened her focus to include holistic therapy and coaching, incorporating breathwork, relaxation, and meditation into her wider practice. While her coaching journey is in its nascent stages, she aims to empower women within a secure, non-judgmental space, fostering health, self-discovery, and personal growth.

Dhara

Hi there! My name is Dhara, and I’m a passionate yoga practitioner and teacher with over 1100+ hours of training in Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa. I have deep roots in India’s spiritual heritage. Six years ago, I began my yoga journey in India. The wisdom and transformative power of yoga captivated me. As I connected with traditional yoga practices, I was drawn to its knowledge, healing power, and ability to connect mind, body, and spirit.

Now, I’m based in the bustling heart of London and aim to bridge the gap between traditional and modern yoga practices. Our practice on the mat provides a safe space to break free from self-imposed limitations, discover inner strength and resilience, and find well-being that extends beyond the mat. I invite you to join me on this transformative path.

Ellie Redcliffe

Ellie has always had a love affair with movement and her connection to yoga has consistently woven itself through her life. She grew up in London practising yoga before she could walk, with her mother a yoga teacher and from a young age learnt many forms of modern and classical dance.

Her fascination with movement and ritual as well as the cultural significance of the mind/body connection drew her to Durham University to study Anthropology. Within her degree she deepened her interest in the body of knowledge our ancestors possessed about the connection between our physical bodies and the natural world through movement.

After years of practice Ellie went on to complete her first teacher training in 2008 in India. She began teaching almost immediately on her return to the UK and has since taught in studios, gyms, private homes and spaces all over London, the UK and internationally. Subsequently she has deepened her own practice with many different teachers and styles of yoga and experimented with other movement and healing modalities.

She is currently focusing less on traditional styles of yoga and more on an intuitive exploration of natural movement, rooted in the intelligence of yoga and combining her love of other movement practices. She has studied classical Indian temple dance (considered to be the roots of yoga) Thai yoga massage, Birthlight pregnancy yoga, chakra healing, permaculture, functional strength training and animal flow and more recently is investigating functional neurology as it relates to our bodies moving in space and somatic practices for nervous system regulation.

Ellie is also a Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach. She passionately believes that movement is medicine, helping to connect us with our intuitive knowing that our bodies are miraculous and imbued with magical possibilities. Ellie teaches with warmth, enthusiasm and abundant playfulness, creating a space to explore, play and glow. Within that space you will find resilience, increased mobility and greater strength in your body, allowing you to explore and connect to your own natural way of moving. Ellie invites you to find the magic in the process and the fun in the transitions. She trusts in the power of movement to heal, transform and unite as we remember we are nature not separate from it and that how we move is how we live.
